  • Appearance:

    They can also have yellow marbling or “honey spots,” which may not be present on every individual. 

  • Size:

    Like other angelfish, Rio Nanay Angelfish can grow to a moderate size, reaching a length of 6 inches (15 cm) and a height of 8 inches (20 cm), including fins. 

  • Habitat:

    In their natural environment, they inhabit warm, acidic waters with tannins, near fallen branches or submerged driftwood. 

  • Care:

    In an aquarium, they prefer similar conditions, including a group of at least 5 fish and ample cover. 

  • Compatibility:

    They are generally peaceful and can coexist with a variety of tankmates, provided they are not overly aggressive or too small to become prey.
