  • Size:

    Altum Angelfish can grow up to 18-25 cm (7-10 inches) tall, making them the largest angelfish species. 

  • Coloration:

    They have a silver or light brown body with three to four vertical black or brownish stripes. They may also develop a reddish tint around the head and gill area as they age. 

  • Fins:

    Altums have long, graceful dorsal and anal fins, creating a triangular silhouette. Their ventral fins are thread-like, adding to their delicate appearance. 

  • Body Shape:

    They have a tall, laterally compressed body and a longer, pointed snout. 

  • Distinctive Features:
    True Altum Angelfish often have an incision on the ridge of their nose, just below the eyes
